Seen also on Discovery's Dual Survival, Matt Graham is the Stone Age "shaman" of this gang and has more than two decades of experience living off the land. One day Matt went for a walk and ended up spending six months on his own in the wild. He lives in a remote area of southern Utah where he builds and sleeps in primitive structures.
At age 15 Matt began his journey as a tri-athlete and rock climber. At age 23, Matt proved his incredible athletic ability as a runner when he ran the length of California via the Pacific Crest Trail, 1,700 miles, in a record 58 days.
Since then, Matt has been teaching primitive skills for over 20 years, including at the Boulder (Utah) Outdoor Survival School and guiding llama packing trips. All while continuing his competitive career as an endurance athlete. He has also been an instructor for an at-risk youth therapy project known as the "Anasazi Outdoor Program" and did training courses for the Young Marines and Canadian Cadets.
As a devoted hunter-gatherer, Matt is a world-class master of the atlatl and began competing four years ago against world champions. He's skilled at hunting with the long bow and makes his own clothing through the primitive art of brain-tanning hides. He's studied Tae Kwon Do, Wushu Kung Fu, and Jeet Kune Do.
Matt is featured in the documentary Living Wild as well as Discovery's Dude, You're Screwed and Dual Survival, along with being a stone age living consultant for "Survivorman" Les Stroud and The Amazing Race.
Matt, now 42 years old, loves playing the game to hone his own survival skills along with studying fresh perspectives from other survivalists, including his military-trained comrades.
